We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Archiving Architect to lead and drive enterprise-wide data archiving, retention, and lifecycle management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), classical data archiving (SARA), and defining data retention and residence times while ensuring compliance and accessibility. This role is critical in shaping the organization’s data strategy and governance.
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Archiving Architect to lead and drive enterprise-wide data archiving, retention, and lifecycle management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), classical data archiving (SARA), and defining data retention and residence times while ensuring compliance and accessibility. This role is critical in shaping the organization’s data strategy and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business discussions across departments to define and implement data retention policies, archiving strategies, and residence times.
  • Drive initiatives for data categorization, scoping, and archiving, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Design and implement Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) strategies and classical data archiving solutions (SARA).
  • Ensure archived data is secure, accessible, and compliant with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with IT, data governance, and business teams to identify critical data and define archival priorities.
  • Provide thought leadership on best practices in data lifecycle management, compliance, and archiving architecture.
  • Mentor and guide junior architects and teams on data archiving strategies and technical solutions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools to optimize archiving processes and storage efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in data management, data architecture, or enterprise archiving solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and SAP Data Archiving (SARA).
  • Proven experience defining data retention policies, residence times, and compliance strategies.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, compliance regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience leading business discussions and driving consensus across multiple stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with data classification, archiving frameworks, and enterprise data management tools.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
