The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing effective data tiering and archiving strategies, ensuring optimal system performance while meeting business and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BW, with deep expertise in data management and optimization.
- Lead BW Data Tiering Optimization (DTO) initiatives, including archiving and tiering processes.
- Analyze BW data across multiple data objects and recommend appropriate Hot, Warm, and Cold data tiers based on reporting, performance, and compliance needs.
- Implement and manage BW data tiering solutions using NSE, NLS, SAP IQ, Object Store, or similar technologies.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to define data residence and retention periods.
- Work with the SAP Basis team to integrate BW systems with Cold storage solutions (NLS/Object Store).
- Apply strong knowledge of SAP HANA data aging and data tiering concepts to propose effective and scalable data tiering strategies.
- Drive at least one end-to-end implementation of BW archiving and data tiering on SAP BW on HANA.
- Ensure alignment of data management strategies with regulatory and audit requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices for BW data lifecycle management.
