We are looking for an engineering lead for a cross-functional team of iOS, Android, and backend engineers responsible for delivery of product features in our Flagship iOS and Android apps. The ideal candidate would bring excellent communication skills, a high level of integrity, and a desire to have a large impact on our customers and our business.

 

What you’ll do:

• Lead, empower, and motivate the team to do their best work.
• Mentor engineers up to the senior level. Identify opportunities to advance engineers on their career paths and help them act more autonomously.
• Take responsibility for the team’s output.
• Work with various stakeholders to define and influence product strategy, roadmaps, OKRs, and project execution.
• Exhibit sound judgment, such as when to reduce scope, who to hire, etc.
• Provide continuous feedback on how we can adapt our environment to help the organization evolve in a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative way.
• Participate in technical designs and ensure engineers are consistently following appropriate design principles.

 

Skills & Experience:

• A solid technical background, including at least 5 years of professional software development experience as an individual contributor.
• An interest in engineering management and the desire to grow into a leadership role managing a team of ~7 engineers.
• Leadership experience building iOS or Android apps and partnering with product management.
• High quality verbal and written communication skills.
• At least 2 years of experience leading an engineering team to deliver exceptional business and technical results.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns of large-scale applications and services supporting them.
• Willingness to work with stakeholders at all levels, and to challenge and influence without authority.
• A sense of ownership, urgency, and pride in your work.

Nice to haves:

• Direct management experience.
• Significant technical depth on iOS or Android.
• Experience with server driven UIs.
• Experience leading remote teams.

 

The salary range for this role is $175,000 to $195,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
