Role Summary
The CSA Cost Manager will be responsible for delivering full lifecycle cost management services for the Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) packages on a large‑scale data centre development.
This role focuses on ensuring cost certainty, commercial control, and value optimisation across complex base‑build works, including substructure, superstructure, building envelope, and architectural elements. You will work in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment, collaborating closely with project teams, consultants, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning & Pre‑Contract Management
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, feasibility studies, and detailed cost plans for CSA works.
- Provide cost advice during design development on structural systems, construction methods, and architectural elements.
- Benchmark costs and identify value engineering opportunities to optimise project outcomes.
Procurement & Tendering
- Prepare tender documentation and commercial deliverables for CSA trade packages.
- Manage tender processes including pre‑qualification, tender analysis, evaluation, and recommendations.
Post‑Contract Cost Management
- Manage change control processes, including variation assessments and cost impact analysis.
- Review and certify contractor progress payments.
- Monitor cost performance and maintain accurate forecasts and records.
- Support final account negotiation and project close‑out.
Reporting & Financial Control
- Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial updates.
- Identify cost risks, trends, and mitigation measures.
- Ensure alignment with project budgets and financial governance requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with Project Managers, consultants, contractors, and client representatives.
- Participate in design, coordination, and site meetings, providing commercial input for CSA scope.
- Coordinate closely with MEP teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with project governance, procedures, and reporting standards.
- Identify and manage project cost risks proactively.
- Maintain transparency and accuracy in all cost management deliverables.
