Elementary SPED Tutor - Foundational Literacy & Math

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in San Bernardino, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in San Bernardino, CA
• Schedule: 25 hours, 4 sessions a week (tutoring hours TBD)
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with students with Autism or other learning differences at the elementary level.
• Strong background in foundational literacy, handwriting, and basic arithmetic.
• Ability to provide clear, structured, and engaging instruction tailored to the student’s level.
• Skilled in using hands-on and visual supports to reinforce learning and retention.
• Excellent communication, organization, and motivational skills.
• Preferred: Experience supporting students with SPED or RBT credentials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and practice in memorization, handwriting, and basic arithmetic.
• Reinforce foundational literacy skills, including sight word recognition and letter formation.
• Use hands-on activities, manipulatives, and interactive strategies to keep the student engaged.
• Incorporate the student’s interests, such as board games, drawing, and coloring, to motivate learning.
• Administer a pre-assessment to determine the student’s current skill levels and guide instruction.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to caregivers or educational staff as appropriate.
• Create a supportive, structured, and patient learning environment that fosters confidence and independence.
