We are looking for a highly motivated Lab Technician to join our team!

As a Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in the development and commercialization of products that will have a major impact on the life science field.

This opportunity is an onsite full-time Saturday-Wednesday contracting position based in our Fremont, CA office.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Synthesize novel particle formulations in aqueous media
  • Conduct process optimizations to ensure final formulations conform to internal specifications with respect to downstream performance, stability, and reproducibility
  • Independently execute various assays and experiments to characterize the physicochemical properties of new particle formulations
  • Spend most working hours in the lab (90% lab work, 10% computer work)
  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment comprising biochemists, molecular biologists, and engineers to drive toward company goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • BS or AA degree in chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field, with relevant hands-on laboratory experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Exceptional new undergraduates with relevant academic research experience will be considered. Relevant work experience required if applying with an AA’s degree
  • Proven hands-on experience working in a wet lab environment in an academic research or industry setting
  • Proficient and comfortable with the safe use of common chemistry lab equipment and glassware
  • Ability to exhibit competency with basic organic chemistry concepts and reactions
  • Understands the differentiation and utilization of data driven deep dives and high-level summaries as well as goal setting
  • Fast learner with a strong sense of urgency, a can-do attitude, and motivation to get the best out of team and co-workers. Loves and thrives in a fast-paced and demanding startup environment
  • Highly organized and has outstanding time/operation management abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adhere to company guidelines & policies
  • Experience with chemical or biochemical characterization methods, including any of the following but not limited to: UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy, DLS, flow cytometry, SDS-PAGE, PCR, is a plus
  • Previous experience with bioconjugation chemistry and/or surface chemistry and knowledge of protein chemistry is a plus
  • Background in developing or working with micro- or nanoparticle formulations, know-how in polymer chemistry, proficient in molecular biology is a plus
