Job Summary:

The Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The Mechanic ensures the reliability, safety, and performance of vehicles serviced within the workshop.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES:

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform mechanical repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and brake systems. · Carry out routine services such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical faults. · Accurately assess vehicle issues and recommend solutions or part replacements.

Job Execution: Follow job card instructions and complete work within designated time frames. · Conduct test drives and final checks to ensure issues are resolved before handover.

Tools & Equipment Handling: Use workshop tools, diagnostic scanners, and lifting equipment safely and correctly. · Maintain and store tools in good condition.

Quality & Safety Compliance: Adhere to company quality control standards and vehicle manufacturer guidelines. · Observe all health and safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

Documentation & Reporting: Record repairs, parts used, and services completed on job cards or workshop systems. · Report any additional work or vehicle issues to the supervisor.

Teamwork & Communication: Collaborate with service advisors, technicians, and parts personnel for smooth workflow. · Provide technical feedback when needed.
