Contract: Senior Analyst, Product Analytics

Upwork is seeking a Senior Analyst, Reputation to support product teams focused on building a trusted, high-quality marketplace experience. In this role, you will define success metrics, build measurement frameworks, and deliver reporting and experimentation insights that inform product strategy and execution. You will partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Design, Data Science, and Operations to ensure reputation and trust-related initiatives are measurable, impactful, and aligned with marketplace outcomes. This is an opportunity to work on complex challenges such as behavioral measurement, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making while contributing to a more transparent and reliable platform experience.

Work/Project Scope:

• Define and maintain product success metrics and KPI frameworks for reputation and trust-related product areas.
• Build and evolve measurement strategies that connect product changes to user behavior, engagement, and business outcomes.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments (A/B tests and quasi-experiments), applying causal inference methods where appropriate.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting to monitor product health, leading indicators, and strategic goals.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve data instrumentation, ensuring high-quality and reliable datasets.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover user behavior insights, friction points, and growth opportunities.
• Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations and narratives for stakeholders.
• Establish analytics best practices and operating rhythms, including reporting cadences and measurement plans.
• Support survey data governance, including sampling strategies and interpretation of response trends.

Must Haves (Required Skills):

• Proven ability to lead end-to-end analytics projects, from problem definition to delivering actionable insights.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets, including data validation and debugging.
• Expertise in metrics design, KPI development, and measurement strategy.
• Experience with experimentation methodologies (A/B testing) and causal inference techniques.
• Proficiency with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau, and experience with Python or R for analysis.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present data-driven insights clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
