Global Procurement Specialist (m/f/d) - Warehousing, Logistics & Distribution

Responsibilities
The Global Procurement Category Specialist – Warehousing, Logistics & Distribution will lead the strategic sourcing and supplier management for Valneva’s global logistics operations. This brownfield position will build upon existing frameworks and relationships, driving optimization, innovation, and sustainability across the end-to-end supply chain. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant logistics solutions that support Valneva’s global operations.
- Category Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute global strategies for warehousing, transportation, and distribution aligned with business and supply chain goals.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management: Collaborate with internal teams and manage strategic partnerships with global and regional logistics providers to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Sourcing & Contracting: Lead RFPs, negotiations, and contracting activities to secure cost-effective, risk-mitigated logistics solutions.
- Performance & Cost Optimization: Drive efficiency, cost savings, and service quality through benchmarking, TCO analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
- Risk, Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure regulatory compliance (GDP/GMP), manage operational risks, and promote sustainable, ESG-aligned logistics practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (APICS, CIPS, Lean Six Sigma) is an advantage
- At least 7 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain, with a strong focus on logistics and distribution in a global or regional environment
- Proven track record managing 3PLs, freight forwarders, and warehousing providers
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management capabilities with a results-driven mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse teams and regions
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sector is highly desirable

Due to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is € 52.000 gross per year based on full-time employment. However our salaries are market oriented and in line with your qualifications and experience.
