Role:
The Technician (Mechanical), reporting directly to Field Engineer (Mechanical), is responsible for performing maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in the water reclamation plant. The position includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting mechanical problems, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting the mechanical maintenance team in ensuring reliable operation of all mechanical systems in the Ultrafiltration (UF)/reverse osmosis (RO) plant.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out all preventive maintenance tasks and schedules for mechanical equipment in UF/RO facility.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and operating defects and make the necessary repairs.
• Under the guidance of Field Engineer (Mechanical), carry out related plant modification works.
• Report and assist the Field Engineer (Mechanical) on the accomplishment of all maintenance activities to allow the correct operation of the plant.
• Execute required preventative maintenance procedures according to established schedules.
• Replace and install specified parts and/or make required adjustments.
• Perform maintenance and repair work on rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, blowers, chemical transfer/dosing pumps, and gearboxes.
• Conduct overhaul activities and spare parts replacement including seals, couplings, bearings, etc.
• Perform basic alignment works on rotating equipment.
• Ensure the equipment runs correctly and perform emergency repairs when required.
• Maintain and organize tools regularly and ensure proper tool management.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
• Coordinate with Operation Team for reduced downtime in operations due to maintenance.
• Analyze routine checks and mechanical parameters to identify equipment faults and potential issues.
• Support the Field Engineer in preparing maintenance reports and documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information into CMMS system.
• On-call availability and shift work with various schedules may also be required.
• Maintain a good housekeeping and adhere to EHS regulations and requirements.
• Optimize and assist with the development of operational quality system procedures/guidelines/documents for Water Treatment.
• Ensure adherence to EHS & Quality processes and procedures, check job sites for potential hazards and report when things are against company policies.
• Maintain appropriate housekeeping for plant facilities cooperating with other departments.
• Ability to work independently most of the time, but report to supervisors.
• Train and coach Junior Technicians continuously.
• Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
• Provide technical assistance to junior team members regarding maintenance procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
• Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within Veolia safety standards and EHS procedures at site.
• Perform administrative functions, such as completing work orders, time sheets, and maintenance logs on a complete, timely, and thorough basis.
• Work on prioritized & emergency needs of the plant maintenance.
• Perform other tasks as directed.
