Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming emergency cases with speed, accuracy, and appropriate prioritization of critical patients
  • Provide calm, compassionate care to patients and clients during high-stress and urgent situations
  • Assist veterinarians with emergency procedures, including trauma stabilization, critical care treatments, and urgent diagnostics
  • Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, administer emergency medications, and monitor fluid therapy
  • Perform blood draws, run in-house laboratory tests, and maintain precise, real-time medical records in a fast-paced environment
  • Monitor anesthesia for emergency and urgent surgical procedures, including continuous assessment of vital parameters
  • Support efficient ER workflow, including coordinating with team members, communicating updates, and assisting with client interactions as needed


 About You

  • Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required
  • At least 1 year of experience in a emergency care setting
  • Proficient in IV catheter placement, venipuncture, and routine diagnostic techniques
  • Strong communicator with a warm, client-focused approach
  • Detail-oriented, team-minded, and comfortable working in a fast paced ER environment
