Key Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain thorough medical histories from pet owners
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments and assist veterinarians during examinations
- Provide routine patient care, administer vaccines, and safely restrain patients for exams and treatments
- Collect laboratory samples, perform blood draws, run in-house laboratory diagnostics, and prepare samples for outside laboratories
- Educate clients on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure timely documentation of patient care
- Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms and treatment areas to support daily hospital operations
- Support a variable caseload depending on seasonal demand while maintaining efficient workflow
- Assist with scheduling, client check-in/check-out, answering phones, and other duties as assigned
About You
- 1–2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant required
- Experience in a small animal practice
- Compassionate communicator with strong client service skills
- Team-oriented, detail-focused, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
