Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain thorough medical histories from pet owners
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments and assist veterinarians during examinations
  • Provide routine patient care, administer vaccines, and safely restrain patients for exams and treatments
  • Collect laboratory samples, perform blood draws, run in-house laboratory diagnostics, and prepare samples for outside laboratories
  • Educate clients on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure timely documentation of patient care
  • Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms and treatment areas to support daily hospital operations
  • Support a variable caseload depending on seasonal demand while maintaining efficient workflow
  • Assist with scheduling, client check-in/check-out, answering phones, and other duties as assigned


About You

  • 1–2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant required
  • Experience in a small animal practice
  • Compassionate communicator with strong client service skills
  • Team-oriented, detail-focused, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
