Operator landfill

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Operator to join our hardworking team at Kate Valley Landfill in Waipara. This role plays a key part in both the safe and efficient operation of the landfill and the ongoing construction and earthworks that support site development.

You’ll work as an all-rounder across our landfill operations, using a variety of heavy machinery and practical skills to support day-to-day site needs. While you may operate equipment such as excavators, dozers, compactors, graders, and dump trucks, you’ll also pitch in across other areas when required - including construction and maintenance tasks, general site and grounds upkeep, drainage or earthworks support, and assisting other departments to keep operations running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with a supportive team to ensure the landfill operates smoothly, safely, and in line with environmental standards.

Key responsibilities will include

• Drive a Class 4 truck onsite and safely transport/tip compactor bins at the landfill tip face
• Operate a range of heavy earthmoving machinery, including compactors, excavators, dump trucks, and bulldozers to move, spread, and compact materials across the landfill site.
• Carry out general maintenance and grounds up-keep work to ensure the smooth running of the Landfill.
• Maintain a professional image of the company and deliver high quality customer service at all times.
•  Conduct daily pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and cleaning of plant and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Complete all paperwork and records accurately, as directed and required.
