Job Summary:

The Proposal Manager is responsible for leading and managing the development of high-quality proposals, ensuring compliance with federal and commercial client requirements, and aligning with the company’s strategic goals. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, developing compelling content, and managing the proposal process from initiation to submission.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proposal Development: Oversee the entire proposal lifecycle, including planning, writing, editing, and final submission.
  • Project Management: Develop proposal schedules, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure proposals meet all client requirements, RFP guidelines, and company standards.
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and refine proposal content, including executive summaries, technical sections, and value propositions.
  • Collaboration: Work with subject matter experts, sales teams, and leadership to gather necessary information and insights.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously refine proposal development processes, templates, and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Review & Approval: Conduct proposal reviews, manage stakeholder feedback, and oversee final production and submission.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in proposal strategies and develop mitigation plans.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and best practices in proposal development. Monitor various federal and commercial opportunity pages for open and upcoming opportunities.

 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in proposal management, business development, or technical writing in regulated environments - federal and/or nuclear preferred.
  • Strong understanding of RFP/RFQ processes and government or commercial procurement practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple proposals simultaneously.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in proposal management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, or similar CRM tools).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) certification is a plus.
