Role Overview
The Human Resources Manager will lead and manage all core HR functions for the company, with a particular focus on supporting a mixed workforce of employees and contractors in the energy, federal and nuclear sectors. This role is ideal for an HR professional who is comfortable operating in regulated environments, partnering closely with leadership, and building scalable people processes as the business grows.
This role is fully remote with some travel for internal gatherings anticipated (<5%).
Salary range $110,000-$130,000. Waymaker Resource Group is committed to fair and equitable compensation and considers internal alignment, market data, and candidate experience when making offers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees, contractors, and leadership
- Manage employee and contractor lifecycle activities, including onboarding, offboarding, recruiting support, and credential tracking
- Provide supervision and oversight of HR support team
- Partner with clients and site administrators to ensure workforce compliance with nuclear site access, background screening, drug testing, and training requirements
- Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, contractor compliance, and HRIS systems
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with attention to energy, federal government and nuclear industry requirements
- Maintain employee policies, contractor guidelines, and the employee handbook
- Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and corrective action
- Support contractor classification, documentation, and client-specific requirements
- Partner with leadership on compensation planning, job descriptions, and workforce planning
- Support training, safety, engagement, and culture initiatives in regulated work environments
- Provide strong judgment, discretion, and capacity to handle sensitive situations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in energy, nuclear, federal, construction, or other regulated industries or an equivalent degree and demonstrated HR leadership
- Experience supporting a large contractor or contingent workforce
- Strong knowledge of employment law, worker classification, and compliance best practices
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Familiarity with security clearances, badging processes, and site access requirements (nuclear and federal government sites preferred)
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) a plus
- HRIS experience (Rippling) a plus
