About the role

As an Employer & Community Coordinator, you'll be responsible for creating and supporting awareness of WorkBC services to employers and communities. The Employer and Community Coordinator helps the community access services, promoting local job creation and labour market development and develops partnerships to meet the diverse needs of individuals, employers, and communities. The Employer and Community Coordinator monitors local labour market demand and development, and acts as a bridge for this information back to the Services Team. This role actively ensures WorkBC Employment Services contributes to an inclusive and progressive economy in the catchment by helping employers and communities develop a strong workforce. The Employer and Community Coordinator takes the lead role to develop and deliver frequent events throughout the catchment.
What you'll do
- Lead Labour Market Network meetings to bring together community and employer stakeholders to support effective labour market functioning
- Provide professional services effectively through face to face (in centre and outreach), virtual (telephone and using online tools), and written methods
- Successfully promotes WorkBC services to all stakeholders
- Effectively communicates and coordinates with others while creating linkages between external stakeholders and team members
- Exhibit a strong customer orientation while sharing information and delivering services within contract and policy requirements
- Actively engages in business and community events, as an attendee or exhibitor, to achieve WCG/program goals, including Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trade functions and other community or employer-based trade shows
- Engage in local Business Associations and committees, and participates in community and employer events, to achieve WCG program goals
- Responsible for input of activities into the WCG Customer Relations Management (CRM) database
- Provide and update current and accurate Labour Market Information (LMI) in print and electric formats (job market, occupations and industries, current and forecasted conditions and trends, training, local employers, other programs)
- Include resources to support employers to hire, train, and retain workers and in developing HR strategies
- Represent WCG as the labour market expert for the catchment
- Takes lead role to successfully generate new client volume to WorkBC in the community, including inclusion groups
- Hosts group-based information sessions as related to services for clients and communities
- Leads service initiative events and activities to engage community and clients in WorkBC services
