Food & Beverage Expert
Part-time
Associate
Job Overview
This role is for one of the Weekday's clients
We’re partnering with a leading AI lab to engage Food & Beverage experts for short-term, project-based work. As a curator, you’ll translate real shopper requests into clear, confident recommendations—covering pantry staples, specialty ingredients, cheese and charcuterie, coffee and tea, chocolate, and wine, beer, and spirits. Your role is to make great buys obvious—and explain why. This is a fully flexible opportunity where you set your own hours and work remotely.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Translate shopper needs (taste preferences, dietary restrictions, occasion, and budget) into well-justified product recommendations with links, prices, pros/cons, and target audiences.
- Compare options across price tiers and retailers; highlight value picks, premium standouts, and note availability or shipping constraints.
- Account for dietary and authenticity considerations (e.g., vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, PDO/PGI/DOP certifications, regional styles) and suggest appropriate substitutions.
- Develop engaging buyer’s guides (e.g., “Weeknight Wines Under $20,” “Cheeses for a Picnic,” “Gifts for Home Cooks”).
- Review and refine AI-generated suggestions, correcting gaps and providing additional context.
- Source recommendations from trusted retailers, ensuring authenticity and avoiding counterfeit or grey-market products.
Ideal Qualifications
- Hands-on, customer-facing experience in specialty grocery, cheese/charcuterie retail, wine and spirits, coffee/tea, or category merchandising.
- Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail and sound product judgment.
- Deep understanding of dietary needs, allergen awareness, and product labeling.
- Enthusiasts with credible expertise (e.g., wine, chocolate, or cheese specialists) are encouraged to apply.
- Nice to have: sommelier, cicerone, or barista certifications, or menu/pairing experience.
More About the Opportunity
- Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule.
- Flexible weekly commitment; workload may vary based on project flow.
- Short-term, project-based role with potential for ongoing collaborations.
- Full autonomy over working methods, with a dedicated support team available for assistance.
Compensation & Contract Terms
- $40–$80 per hour (USD), based on expertise, education, and quality of work.
- Payments issued weekly via Stripe Connect.
- Independent contractor engagement — you set your own hours.
- Scope and rates may vary by project.
