We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounting to join our growing team. This role is ideal for individuals who are early in their finance and accounting careers but are eager to take on responsibilities that contribute to financial planning, analysis, compliance, and reporting. The position provides an excellent opportunity to apply foundational accounting principles while also gaining managerial exposure, supporting the finance team in ensuring organizational efficiency and growth.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor budgets and forecasts to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct variance analysis to track financial performance and highlight key trends.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for statutory audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions and ensure data accuracy in the accounting systems.

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Assist in implementing financial policies, procedures, and systems to strengthen governance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline reporting and operational efficiency.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Support the Finance Manager in supervising junior team members and interns.
  • Provide guidance and training on accounting processes, ensuring quality and consistency in deliverables.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their financial needs and provide actionable insights.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline. A Master’s degree or professional certification (CA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or ACCA) is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience: 0–5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or related roles. Freshers with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret numbers and provide data-driven insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
