Requirements
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all payroll-related processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an in-depth understanding of payroll systems, and expertise in statutory compliance under Indian labor laws.
As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for processing payroll for a large workforce ranging between 700 to 3000 employees, ensuring timely disbursement of salaries and adherence to regulatory obligations. This role requires a proactive professional who can collaborate with HR, finance, and compliance teams while maintaining strict confidentiality and precision in every aspect of payroll management.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Payroll Management:
Manage complete payroll processing for 700–3000 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory and company policies. - Payroll Analysis & Reporting:
Conduct periodic payroll audits and variance analysis to ensure data integrity. Generate detailed payroll reports and analytics to support business decisions and financial planning. - Compliance & Statutory Adherence:
Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory requirements including PF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax, LWF, and other labor regulations. Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws, taxation, and government notifications. - Reconciliation & Accounting:
Handle payroll accounting, monthly reconciliations, and coordination with finance teams for journal entries and payment disbursements. Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll data and documentation. - Employee Records Management:
Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records including salary revisions, arrears, incentives, bonuses, and deductions. Ensure data security and integrity across payroll systems. - Full & Final Settlements:
Manage end-to-end F&F settlements for exiting employees, including calculation of dues, gratuity, leave encashment, and statutory compliance. - Process Improvements:
Continuously review and optimize payroll processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience. Evaluate automation opportunities to streamline payroll operations. - Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with HR, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure smooth payroll execution. Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries and issue resolution.
Requirements
- Education: CA or Semi-Qualified CA preferred; alternatively, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or HR.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in payroll management for large organizations (700–3000 employees).
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of Indian payroll laws, taxation (TDS), and labor compliance (PF, ESI, PT, LWF).
- Proficiency in payroll software such as GreytHR, ADP, SAP, Oracle HCM, or similar platforms.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel for payroll data analysis and reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform payroll variance analysis, reconcile data, and support financial audits.
- Attention to Detail: High degree of numerical accuracy, confidentiality, and reliability in managing sensitive data.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in an individual contributor capacity while meeting strict deadlines.
