The Opportunity
Are you ready to take the next step in governance leadership and help shape best-practice governance at one of Australia’s leading universities? We are seeking a solutions-oriented, detail-driven and approachable Senior Governance Officer to to join our team at the Hawkesbury campus, where you’ll play a key role in enabling high-quality decision-making, compliance, and effective governance outcomes across the University.
In this role, you will provide high-quality governance and administrative support across the University, playing a key part in ensuring high-level committees and decision-making bodies operate effectively and in line with legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders across the University to support effective governance practices and contribute to the achievement of the University’s strategic objectives.
You will also contribute to one or more portfolio areas supported by the Office of Governance Services. This work provides hands-on experience in project management and case management-style work, involving analysis, investigation, policy interpretation, stakeholder coordination, and evidence-based decision support.
As a senior member of our high performing team, you may supervise 1–2 Governance Officers, providing clear direction, setting priorities, and supporting their development, while ensuring your tasks are performed to a high standard.
About You
You are an experienced governance professional who combines attention to detail with strong interpersonal and leadership capability.
You are:
Highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage complex workflows and competing priorities
Confident in prioritisation and decision-making, particularly in fast-paced or high-stakes environments
Self-directed and accountable, able to work autonomously while contributing to team objectives
A clear, credible communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and producing high-quality written documentation
Collaborative and supportive in your leadership style, able to guide and develop others through formal supervision or mentoring
An initiator and problem-solver, with the ability to lead projects end to end – from identifying from identifying issues or opportunities, through stakeholder engagement and planning, to delivering practical solutions and continuous improvements.
Supervisory experience is highly regarded but not required for success in this role.
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at our Hawkesbury campus.

Remuneration Package:
HEW Level 7 $124,203 to $133,967 p.a. (comprising Salary of $104,953 to $113,204 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
