The Opportunity
As a Marketing and Events Officer for the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, you will support the delivery of the Faculty’s student recruitment, retention and engagement goals. You will coordinate marketing activities, develop compelling content, and contribute to the planning and execution of major faculty and university‑wide events. Working closely with academics, professional staff, central marketing teams and external partners, you will ensure campaigns, communications and events reflect Western’s brand and meaningfully engage target audiences.
In this role, you will shape digital and print content, support faculty‑based marketing initiatives, and help deliver key events including Open Day, Orientation and recruitment fairs. You will contribute to promotional materials across digital and physical channels, support social media updates, and assist with post‑event evaluation to improve outcomes. This role blends creativity, coordination and collaboration in a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment, contributing directly to an exceptional student experience.
What Success Looks Like
- Coordinating marketing activities that align to the Faculty’s annual marketing and recruitment plan.
- Developing engaging content for print, digital and social platforms using WSU marketing tools (e.g., Adobe Express).
- Supporting faculty‑based campaigns and initiatives aimed at attracting prospective students and engaging current cohorts.
- Planning and delivering faculty‑specific and University‑wide events in line with brand and recruitment objectives.
- Collaborating with central marketing and events teams to ensure alignment with university‑wide campaigns such as Open Day and Orientation.
- Producing promotional collateral and contributing to event promotion across digital and physical channels.
- Monitoring and reporting on campaign and event effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintaining strong working relationships with internal staff and external partners while upholding WSU brand standards.

About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Events or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience planning and delivering events from concept to completion.
- Confidence developing content across web, digital, print and social media.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital marketing tools.
- Holding a current, valid driver licence and being willing and able to travel across campuses regularly.
