We’re looking for an experienced Demand Planner to join our team in Poeldijk, Netherlands on a permanent basis.
As a Demand Planner at Westfalia Fruit, you will manage the daily, weekly, and monthly forecasting process, creating an 18-month outlook for our fresh produce portfolio. You’ll work closely with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain, gathering insights from market trends, historical performance, and customer behaviour to build an accurate demand forecast. You’ll challenge assumptions, validate data, and ensure all inputs are aligned and commercially sound. Acting as the key link between Commercial and Supply teams, you’ll highlight risks and opportunities to support a balanced and effective S&OP process, ensuring the business can meet customer demand efficiently and reliably.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve demand forecasts, including baseline models, promotional overlays, and seasonality.
- Monitor forecast accuracy, identify deviations, and proactively adjust forecasts based on market trends, commercial changes, and customer insights.
- Support the monthly S&OP process with summaries of forecast performance, new product introductions, and product delists, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Analyse market developments and factors such as weather that impact product availability, pricing, and demand patterns.
- Report key demand planning KPIs (e.g., Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Bias, MAPE) and ensure transparency across stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to align on demand drivers and deliver a balanced, financially viable supply plan.
- Advise internal teams on fresh produce market trends and expected demand developments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Demand Planner, Inventory Planner or similar role.
- Experience in data mining, analysis and reporting.
- Fluency in English.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes and inventory management systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Agribusiness.
- Significant experience in a similar role within the fresh produce, FMCG or food industry.
- Experience with forecasting tools and ERP systems (e.g., Green Commerce, Profix, 365).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Affinity with the fresh produce sector and knowledge of product seasonality.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly advantageous.
