We’re looking for an experienced Director of Finance to join our German team in Munich on an interim 6 month basis. 

We are looking for an interim Director of Finance to take the reins of our German Market unit and become a key player in steering sustainable, profitable success during a key time of transition for Westfalia Fruit. 

In this influential role, you’ll act as a trusted partner to the German Market Unit Director, helping guide commercial decisions and embedding financial discipline into every aspect of the business. You’ll lead a high-performing finance team and foster a value-driven culture that aligns with both local goals and global priorities. From financial planning and management reporting to taxation and risk management, you’ll be at the heart of it all. 

This role also offers the exciting opportunity to help implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP, a key part of Westfalia’s integration journey across global markets. Responsibilities include: 

• As a strategic finance partner, you’ll advise the European Finance Director and German Market Director with data-driven insights, challenging commercial decisions and shaping the bigger picture through investment modelling, pricing strategy, and competitor analysis. 

• You’ll own the German financial performance—budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning—translating complex data into actionable insights, highlighting risks, and driving improvements in profitability. 

• Leading a high-performing team, you’ll champion financial capability and a business-partnering mindset across Germany, while working closely with global colleagues to ensure alignment and share best practices. 

• You’ll ensure robust financial governance, compliance with regulations and oversee internal and external audits, maintaining accuracy in all reporting. 

• When it comes to capital and investment, you’ll drive financial rigour—evaluating proposals, leading business cases, and reviewing ROI to fuel strategic growth. 

Requirements

Experience we look for: 

Essential 

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) 

• Previous experience in a finance leadership role within a commercial environment. 

• Proven track record in strategic finance partnering, ideally in a market or regional leadership setting. 

• Strong leadership skills with experience developing teams and driving cross-functional collaboration. 

• Commercially savvy with strong analytical and influencing skills.
