Job Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Property Controller to support day‑to‑day accounting operations through the maintenance and coordination of accounting books and records in Orlando, Florida. This full‑time accounting position is responsible for the preparation, review, analysis, and presentation of key accounting processes, including general ledger journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and revenue and expense variance analysis. The Assistant Property Controller will work closely with the Property Controller and cross‑functional department leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely month‑end close activities.

The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to analyze complex financial data and clearly communicate findings. This role plays a critical part in supporting financial accuracy within a hospitality and timeshare accounting environment, helping leadership identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and improve accounting controls while presenting actionable solutions.

This position requires a motivated accounting professional who can work independently while also collaborating with accounting team members and department managers. Experience with Oracle financial systems, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and prior hospitality or timeshare accounting experience are highly preferred. What You Will Be Doing:
- Prepare and post general ledger closing journal entries as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Review, analyze, and present financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
- Perform bank account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts and maintain organized supporting documentation
- Analyze revenue and expense variances, identify root causes, and present findings with recommended action plans
- Exercise sound professional judgment when identifying accounting issues and proposing corrective solutions
- Assist the Property Controller with ad‑hoc accounting projects, reporting, and analysis
- Collaborate with internal departments to support accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency
- Assist and support other accounting staff members and department managers as needed
- Perform any other reasonable accounting duties or special projects assigned by management
