Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Trust Accountant who is fluent in Mandarin to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining trust accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, and providing accurate reporting. Proficiency in Mandarin is essential, as the role involves coordinating with Mandarin-speaking clients, stakeholders, and international partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Trust Account Management

  • Set up and maintain trust accounts in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Monitor and reconcile trust accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Process deposits, disbursements, and transfers in accordance with trust agreements.

  • Prepare periodic trust account statements and detailed financial reports for clients and stakeholders.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to ensure compliance with trust regulations.

  • Ensure all trust accounting procedures adhere to applicable accounting standards and legal requirements.

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of trust accounts to identify discrepancies and take corrective actions.

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with trust laws and guidelines.

Client and Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and stakeholders regarding trust account matters in both Mandarin and English.

  • Provide detailed explanations and updates on account activity, ensuring transparency and understanding.

  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Tax Compliance and Documentation

  • Prepare and file trust-related tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of trust transactions, correspondence, and legal documents.

  • Assist in preparing tax-related documents and ensuring timely submission of necessary filings.

Risk Management and Internal Controls

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with trust account management.

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard trust assets.

  • Ensure adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures.
