JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an AU & US General Accounting. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial records and accounts of our Australian branch. This is a crucial position that ensures accurate and timely financial data, which is essential for effective decision-making and business operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bookkeeping & Financial Management: Manage financial records for more than one entity, including 3 entities in New Zealand.
Accurately enter and process supplier bills for payment.
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are correctly coded.
Generate reports + prepare analytical reports.
Process payroll for 100+ staff (currently monthly, transitioning to fortnightly).
Manage superannuation lodgements (monthly).
Prepare and file Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports and annual payment summaries.
Process bank payments and batch payments for suppliers.
Record and allocate intercompany transactions, such as travel expenses across entities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and Australian accounting standards.
Understanding of the Australian Tax System – including GST
BAS Preparation and Lodgement: Preparation and lodgement of BAS. This includes calculating GST, PAYG withholding, and other tax obligations.
Managing/calculating GST owed to the ATO and claiming GST credits on business purchases.
Process and reconcile vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
Support general financial administration and ad hoc tasks as needed.
Prepare and distribute customer invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments.
Assist with month-end and year-end financial close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance
Key Responsibilities
Account Reconciliation
• Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure financial records align with bank statements.
• Perform weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reconciliations as required to maintain financial accuracy.

• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), including calculations for GST, PAYG withholding, and other tax obligations.
• Ensure timely and accurate lodgement to maintain compliance with ATO regulations.
. GST & Tax Compliance
• Manage and calculate GST obligations, including amounts owed to the ATO and claiming GST credits on business purchases.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date GST calculations in line with tax regulations.
. Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare key financial reports, including:
• Profit & Loss Statements
• Balance Sheets
• Cash Flow Statements
• Handle ad hoc financial reporting requests as needed by management.
. Record-Keeping & Compliance
• Maintain organized, accurate, and secure financial records, including invoices, receipts, and transactions.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting and tax requirements.
