Consultant Neurologist

We are inviting applications for the position of Consultant Neurologist. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, patient-centred neurology service within a dynamic acute hospital and wider hospital group.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with the full spectrum of neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

• Deliver acute neurology services including rapid access / TIA clinics, stroke support, and emergency consultations.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and care-pathway development.

• Contribute to the organisation and delivery of outpatient neurology clinics, neurophysiology services (if applicable), and liaison with primary/community care.

• Provide on-call consultant neurology services as part of the agreed rota.

• Lead and support quality-improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and service efficiency.

• Engage in teaching, training, and supervision of NCHDs, medical students, nurses, and allied health professionals.

• Participate in audit, clinical governance, and service development in line with HSE and hospital policies.

• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
