WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for experienced Machine Learning engineer/Data Scientist with strong expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), to design and implement autonomous human-centric AI systems with a particular focus on challenges of the Japanese language and cultural context.
Our daily tasks include technical R&D, proof-of-concept (POC), system design, agentic workflows design, LLM fine-tuning and evaluation, inference optimization, and etc. Skills in modern software development and solid experiences in developing real-time, production-grade systems are necessary.
This position reports to the function leader and offers a hybrid work arrangement. Additionally, there are business trips to Woven-City several times a month.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop scalable LLM-based solutions for human interaction AI systems
- Collect, curate, and prepare datasets for LLM product/services development
- Make technical judgment and architectural decisions while working with cross-functional teams
- Build and optimize ML/LLM pipelines from data ingestion to automated model serving
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience building complex AI systems
- Strong experience in machine learning and the framework (e.g. PyTorch, HuggingFace ecosystem, etc.)
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Large Language Models and NLP technologies
(e.g., transformers, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, embedding models) - Business level skills in English and professional proficiency in Japanese sufficient to evaluate model outputs, curate datasets, and understand regional nuances. Native status is not required.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience in product development using LLMs (i.e. AI-assistants, chatbot, conversational AI systems, etc.)
- Higher motivation for catching up with the latest technologies
- Quick implementation skills from the the latest research papers
- Experience with multi-modal models combining text, vision, speech, or behavioral data
- Familiarity with model optimization techniques (quantization, distillation, inference acceleration)
