Purpose of the role
- Senior Analyst will be responsible for period end close activities, ensures accuracy and timeliness in processing all general ledger entries, fixed assets transaction, bank transactions, financial and management reporting, accounts reconciliation, statutory audit and tax computation while adhering to WPP group policies and company procedures. He/She is responsible to regularly track and resolve outstanding issues and escalate to relevant parties as necessary.
Job Description
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing general ledger entries, fixed assets transaction, banking transaction, financial and management reporting, accounts reconciliation, statutory audit and tax computation in accordance with SLAs
- Work closely with WPP Operating Units (OpCo) Finance to understand current activities and ensure all changes are reflected in financial statement.
- Collaborate with OpCo to clear aged balance sheet items.
- Regularly track and resolve outstanding issues being identified and escalate to relevant parties as necessary.
- Liaise with internal/external stakeholders as and when necessary
- Ensure service level agreements (SLA) and monthly performance and productivity KPIs are met
- Ensure the ownership for all applicable internal controls related to RTR processes.
- Proactively identify, propose and implement continuous process improvement opportunities in existing processes within the team
- Participate in continuous process improvement projects and plans
- Involvement in ad hoc activities or project.
- Perform review work on analyst
- Perform knowledge transfer with new joiner
- Works independently within guidelines and policies, and receives minimal guidance.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and provides functional guidance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field, and/or professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/MIA etc.)
- 2 - 3 years of experience in accounting/ finance functions.
- Experience in Audit and tax is an added advantage.
- Having supervisory experience is an added advantage.
- Exposure to MNC working environment and Consolidated Group Accounts will be added advantage
Skill and Competencies
- Good communication skill and able to communicate effectively in English
- Knowledge in financial accounting principles, processes and accounting standard such as IFRS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
