The Product Designer plays a critical role in shaping intuitive, effective, and engaging user experiences across our digital platform.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in ambiguity, passionate about user-centred design, and eager to collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges. Reporting to the Senior Product Designer in the team, this product designer will contribute to user research, journey mapping, wireframes, prototyping and UI design, directly impacting the usability and success of our platform WPP Open.
What you'll be doing:
- Take full ownership of their product / workstream from discovery though to delivery with a strong product mindset.
- Translate product requirements and user needs into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity designs and detailed design specifications for various products and services in our platform.
- Conduct user research and usability testing, leveraging insights to inform design decisions and validate solutions.
- Contribute to persona development and customer journey maps when relevant, helping to define and understand our target users.
- Ensure consistency with experience principles and the broader "North Star" UX vision defined by our Product Design Leads.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to ensure the feasibility and integrity of design solutions.
- Ensure design delivery files are well-detailed (with clear specifications, consistent naming conventions, annotations, and any supporting documentation for the developers).
- Advocate for user-centred design principles and accessibility and usability standards across the platform, ensuring our designs are inclusive and easy to use for everyone.
- Actively participate in Agile team ceremonies, contributing to sprints and continuous improvement.
What you'll need:
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in UX/UI or product design with demonstrated experience leading design initiatives and projects.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in product, UX/UI design, design research, design systems usage as well as your ability to design impactful and user-centred design solutions and your contribution to complex projects.
- Expert level proficiency in leading design tools such as Figma, and collaboration tools such as Miro as well as usability testing tools.
- Deep understanding of human-centred design principles, interaction design best practices, and usability.
- Extensive experience working with and contributing to design systems.
- Strong knowledge of usability and accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
- Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills, with proven ability to articulate design decisions and complex design concepts clearly.
- Experience working in Agile teams and ability to deliver high quality designs in a fast paced environment.
Bonus Skills:
- Basic understanding of service design or ecosystem mapping.
- Experience designing for SaaS products.
- Interest in data visualization or AI-enhanced experiences.
- Additional knowledge of Usability and Accessibility Guidelines beyond basic requirements.
- Familiarity with Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus.
