POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks a Refugee School Impact (RSI) Early Education Specialist to oversees offering early childhood education programs (ages 2-5) to clients, emphasizing the importance of teaching children at an early age. The classes will focus on the creative arts- crafts, painting, music, and English basics, with the goal of preparing refugee children for school.
This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 9/30/26 and contingent upon funding extension.

POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks a Refugee School Impact (RSI) Early Education Specialist to oversees offering early childhood education programs (ages 2-5) to clients, emphasizing the importance of teaching children at an early age. The classes will focus on the creative arts- crafts, painting, music, and English basics, with the goal of preparing refugee children for school.
This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 9/30/26 and contingent upon funding extension.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create curriculum, supplies and classroom plans for RSI Class, four mornings a week for 1.5 hours per class, with the help of a co-teacher.
- Lead class with creative art, music, centers, learning exercises, and educational games.
- Setup and tear down of classroom settings daily.
- Coordinate church partner volunteers to help serve in classes.
- Assist in the organization of classroom space and collaborate closely with English Language Instruction department.
- Perform assessments and case notes for each child.
- Keep daily records of services offered and update files as required.
- Communicate with parents regarding classes and student progress.
- Meet regularly with RSI Supervisor and Education Programs Manager.
- Assist with school registration and other services offered.
- Assist in all aspects of grant compliance.
- Attend Staff Meetings (both RSI, Education and All staff).
- Any additional tasks deemed necessary for program success.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
- Taught in an Early Childhood setting for no less than 2 years.
- Curriculum creation, including writing daily lesson plans.
- Comfort in leading and guiding class for 1.5 hour timeframe, four days a week.
- Flexibility is a must.
- Detail-oriented-maintaining proper documentation of clients and services provided by RSI for reporting and auditing requirements.
- People skills- gaining clients’ trust and make them feel valued and safe.
- Relaxed and composed in chaotic environments or awkward situations.
- Able to create effective work plans for the day while remaining efficient when plans and circumstances change.
- Cross cultural experience.
- Social work background.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree in Education
- 3 years experience leading an Early Childhood Classroom
- Cross-cultural Experience
