About the Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will join our Global Technology team supporting Xplor’s Field Services division—the team that provides expertise and solutions for HVAC and Plumbing trades. We build platforms that help our customers run their businesses efficiently and keep life moving. You will lead efforts to enhance our industry-leading platform, ensuring scalability, innovation, and technical excellence.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and execute a technology roadmap aligned with departmental strategy and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to design scalable, future-ready solutions.
  • Review and improve architectural roadmaps, addressing technical debt and development bottlenecks.
  • Drive innovation through adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices.
  • Ensure technical designs align with system vision and long-term goals.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and nurture high-performing engineering teams through recruitment, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture that encourages creativity and professional growth.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members, promoting autonomy and ownership.
  • Offer regular feedback and recognition, supporting career development and retention.

Project & Delivery Management

  • Partner with product managers, business leaders, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and risk management to meet scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Continuously refine SDLC processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Promote Agile principles by encouraging demos and working code.

Technical Excellence & Quality Assurance

  • Champion best practices in coding standards, documentation, and maintainability.
  • Promote code reviews, automated testing, and robust QA processes for high-quality deliverables.
  • Encourage continuous learning, certifications, and skill enhancement within the team.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams and senior leadership, ensuring transparency on progress and challenges.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain open communication channels, fostering constructive feedback and problem-solving.

Continuous Improvement

  • Regularly assess team performance, tools, and processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Encourage innovation and experimentation with new ideas and technologies.
  • Implement goal-setting and performance tracking aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across teams to drive organizational growth.
