As Data & Analytics functional analyst within our Data & Analytics team, you play an instrumental role in the realization of this vision by analyzing analytical needs, translating them to data needs and document the related functional requirements and designs: 

  • You analyse the SNCB’s business needs and translate them into understandable functional specifications and use cases allowing the reuse and/or development of data pipelines, reports and API’s.

  • You are in regular contact with your business contacts and their directors – you are the go-to resource for colleagues and business stakeholders. 

  • You provide valuable input and recommendations on reporting techniques to the business, utilizing mockups, proof-of-concepts, and best practices. 

  • You work closely with stakeholders in all departments (data users, data suppliers, and other stakeholders) to develop and manage roadmaps. 

  • You assist the development and test team in translating your requirements correctly into validated data assets, reports and test scenario’s. 

  • You document the solutions and keep this documentation up-to-date. 

  • You regularly coordinate with data owners, data architects, data custodians, data consumers to draw up and manage the necessary roadmaps (improvements, bugs, incidents). 

  • Together with the data architects, you ensure alignment with existing business and solution architecture, consulting with Enterprise, System, and Solution Architects as needed.
