This position plays a key leadership role in overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance for the organization. This position ensures accurate financial management, supports strategic decision-making, and maintains compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, and regulatory obligations.
The role combines hands-on accounting support and financial analysis by collaborating with organizational departments to support budget management and financial analysis to ensure the organization meets its mission effectively.
The position will manage the following groups: Accounts Receivable (Grant & Housing Receivable) and Grant Compliance.
Note: This is a hybrid position, with a certain percentage of time spent working remotely and a certain percentage of time spent working out of a YWCA office.

Financial Management & Accounting
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Assist with preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Develop internal financial reports for program and administrative leadership
- Oversee Accounts Receivable (grants and housing)
- Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to financial policies and procedures
- Lead annual budgeting process across administrative departments.
- Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts using Vena.
- Conduct financial forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Partner with program leaders to monitor budget vs. actual performance.
- Create automated reports and dashboards for leadership
- Maintain and enhance Vena system configurations and reporting structures
- Ensure data integrity by reconciling Vena with accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Paylocity)
- Oversee Grant Compliance team to ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and reporting requirements.
- Review of grant expenditures and financial reports for funders
- Collaborate with development team on budgeting for proposals and renewals
- Support grant related audits
- Partner with Grant Billing team to ensure compliance
- Develop policies and procedures aligned with Uniform Guidance requirements
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven team environment
- Engage cross-functionally to provide financial insights and support organizational goals
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and operational efficiency
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Commitment to diversity, including sensitivity to the needs of residents and staff from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
- Participate and provide leadership in various ways for the agency’s Social Justice Initiative.
- Support the YWCA’s Social Justice Initiative by understanding how racism, sexism, classism, and other oppressions play out in institutions and systems.
- Use the lens of social justice to review policies and procedures.

Must have's to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and budgeting experience
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Experience with budgeting systems (e.g., Vena) and accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Paylocity)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial audiences
- CPA or MBA
- Experience with system implementation or administration (Vena preferred)
- Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or similar reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications

HOURS, RATE, & BENEFITS:
- Annualized Salary Range: $130,000-145,000
- Excellent benefits package including medical insurance, retirement plan, plus generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave plans.
- At the time of hire, employees may enroll voluntarily in the Fidelity 403b Plan. After two years of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the YWCA Retirement Fund
