Role Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer with 10–15 years of experience in design and detailed engineering of combustion and burner management systems (BMS) for boilers, heaters, and fired equipment in the oil & gas / petrochemical sector.
This role requires strong technical depth along with the ability to lead engineering activities, review deliverables, and assist teams across multiple projects.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer with 10–15 years of experience in design and detailed engineering of combustion and burner management systems (BMS) for boilers, heaters, and fired equipment in the oil & gas / petrochemical sector.
This role requires strong technical depth along with the ability to lead engineering activities, review deliverables, and assist teams across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute detailed engineering for combustion control and Burner Management Systems (BMS) across projects.
- Develop and review control philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, and interlock narratives.
- Design and validate PLC-based control systems for combustion applications.
- Prepare and review instrument datasheets and specifications.
- Prepare and review hook-up drawings.
- Prepare and review Junction Box (JB) drawings.
- Prepare and review loop diagrams and wiring schematics.
- Perform and validate control valve sizing calculations.
- Perform and validate flow element sizing calculations.
- Develop and review Boolean logic diagrams for BMS and safety interlocks.
- Review and approve Material Take-Off (MTO) for instrumentation systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Interface with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams for technical clarifications and design alignment.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (ISA, IEC, NFPA) and project specifications.
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering quality, standardization, and documentation practices.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong expertise in Burner Management Systems (BMS) and combustion control philosophies (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong expertise in PLC programming (hardware & software) for combustion applications.
- Advanced knowledge of control valve sizing.
- Advanced knowledge of flow element sizing.
- Advanced knowledge of instrumentation design, selection, and specification.
- Advanced knowledge of Boolean logic and safety interlock systems.
- Hands-on experience in preparing engineering deliverables and drawings.
- Hands-on experience in reviewing engineering deliverables and drawings.
- Familiarity with hazardous area classification.
- Familiarity with safety systems, with preference for SIL (Safety Integrity Level) concepts.
- Prior experience with Zeeco or similar combustion systems/products is highly desirable.
