Position Overview:
We are looking for an accomplished Static Equipment Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering team in Mumbai. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value international projects, particularly within the vapor recovery (VRU) and environmental control domain.
Ideal candidates will bring strong expertise in the engineering and design of static equipment—such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, and separators—along with experience in heavy engineering, fired equipment, or process equipment environments.
The position involves detailed engineering, structural analysis, and close collaboration with Zeeco’s global engineering teams, including frequent technical interaction with our U.S. headquarters and other international offices.

Ideal candidates will bring strong expertise in the engineering and design of static equipment—such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, and separators—along with experience in heavy engineering, fired equipment, or process equipment environments.
The position involves detailed engineering, structural analysis, and close collaboration with Zeeco’s global engineering teams, including frequent technical interaction with our U.S. headquarters and other international offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineering of static equipment including towers, columns, heat exchangers, separators, and storage tanks.
- Preparation and review of General Arrangement Drawings (GAD) and fabrication drawings for static equipment and integrated systems.
- Development of plot plans, equipment layouts, piping class definitions, piping arrangements, and isometric drawings.
- Preparation of material take-offs, specifications, vessel RFQs, data sheets, design reports, and vendor proposal evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to international design codes and standards such as ASME Section VIII Div-1, TEMA, ASME B31.3, API, and ASTM.
- Design of equipment skids, structural supports, pipe racks, and modular assemblies for global project applications.
- Conduct design validation and engineering calculations using PV Elite, COMPRESS, FEA tools, and other analysis software.
- Perform stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), nozzle load evaluations, and structural integrity assessments.
- Manage 3D modelling and visualization of static equipment for engineering reviews and project coordination.
- Apply appropriate material selection, corrosion allowance, and metallurgy considerations based on project requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with Zeeco’s U.S. and global engineering teams, contributing to multi-office execution and technical alignment.
- Engage in design reviews, resolve technical queries, and ensure engineering deliverables meet global project expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 - 8 years of experience in static equipment and pressure vessel design within heavy engineering, EPC, fired equipment, or process equipment industries.
Preferred Software Skills:
- PV Elite, COMPRESS
- STAAD.Pro, CAESAR II
- AutoCAD (2D & 3D), Navisworks, SmartPlant Review
- NozzlePro
Key Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of pressure vessel design codes and fabrication practices.
- Proficiency in mechanical design, drafting, and review of engineering deliverables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
