About the role
The Finance Manager – Controllership will be the engine room of the Finance function, responsible for driving accurate, timely, and insight-driven financial closure and reporting across entities. This role demands hands-on ownership, strong people leadership, deep ERP capability (Oracle Fusion), and the ability to operate in a fastscaling, tech-first environment with increasing automation and investor scrutiny.

About the role
The Finance Manager – Controllership will be the engine room of the Finance function, responsible for driving accurate, timely, and insight-driven financial closure and reporting across entities. This role demands hands-on ownership, strong people leadership, deep ERP capability (Oracle Fusion), and the ability to operate in a fastscaling, tech-first environment with increasing automation and investor scrutiny.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closure within defined timelines.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of MIS packs including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and variance analysis.
- Drive closure calendars, pre-close checks, and post-close reviews.
- Partner with Business Finance / FP&A to ensure numbers tell the right story, not just the right totals.
- Lead and manage the AP function covering vendor accounting, invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliations.
- Ensure strong controls around vendor onboarding, approvals, and payment governance.
- Drive SLA adherence, ageing control, and timely dispute resolution.
- Continuously optimize AP workflows through automation and ERP enhancements.
- Own capitalization, depreciation, impairment, disposals, and maintenance of FA registers.
- Ensure alignment with accounting standards and internal capitalization policies.
- Coordinate with Procurement, IT, and Operations for asset tracking and physical verification.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of the Fixed Assets module in Oracle Fusion.
- Oversee daily cash positions, bank balances, and fund utilization.
- Manage bank reconciliations, cash forecasts, and liquidity planning.
- Support investment of surplus funds, inter-company funding, and treasury MIS.
- Ensure tight controls over bank mandates, signatories, and payment authorizations.
- Monitor and optimize AP, AR, and cash cycles.
- Drive initiatives to improve cash conversion and reduce idle balances.
- Prepare working capital dashboards and trend analyses for senior management.
- End-to-end ownership of GL hygiene across entities.
- Ensure accurate accounting entries including provisions, accruals, reversals, and reconciliations.
- Review and sign off on key balance sheet schedules.
- Maintain robust documentation and audit trails.
- Act as the primary SPOC for statutory, tax, and internal auditors.
- Plan and execute audits efficiently with minimal business disruption.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain strong audit readiness throughout the year—not just during audit season.
- Own Oracle Fusion Financials (GL, AP, FA, Cash Management).
- Drive process standardization, system controls, and configuration improvements.
- Partner with IT / ERP teams on upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
- Ensure seamless integration with peripheral systems and data sources.
- Identify automation opportunities across controllership processes.
- Lead adoption of RPA, AI-driven reconciliations, smart workflows, and analytics tools.
- Reduce manual effort, errors, and closure timelines through continuous improvement.
- Champion a “zero-Excel dependency” mindset where feasible.
- Build and maintain management dashboards covering:
- Financial performance
- Working capital
- Treasury
- Closure metrics
- Enable real-time visibility for leadership through structured reporting.
- Support ad-hoc deep dives and decision-oriented analytics.
- Support investor reporting, board decks, and data requests.
- Ensure numbers are audit-ready, defensible, and well-narrated.
- Partner with senior leadership during fundraising, diligence, and strategic reviews.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 12–15 finance professionals.
- Build strong second-line leaders and reduce key-person dependency.
- Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Set clear KPIs, review performance, and actively coach team members.

Skills
- Experience in Tech / FinTech / SaaS / high-growth companies.
- • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion ERP.
- • Exposure to automation, RPA, analytics, or AI-led finance transformations.
Experience & Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA).
- • Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience, with significant exposure to: a. Monthly closures b.GL ownership c. AP / FA / Treasury
- • Proven experience in fast-growing, complex environments
