Job Overview

The Driver and Utility Worker plays a vital role in supporting daily dining operations by transporting food, supplies, and equipment between campus dining locations while assisting with back-of-house responsibilities. This position ensures that all retail outlets receive the products and resources needed to operate efficiently and provide exceptional service to guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport food products, supplies, equipment, and other items from the main production facility to approximately six campus dining locations.
  • Deliver backup meals and other food items during service periods to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Load, unload, and organize deliveries while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.
  • Verify delivery accuracy and communicate inventory shortages or discrepancies to management.
  • Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries from supply and food vendors.
  • Support dish room operations by washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, loading docks, vehicles, and workspaces.
  • Follow all company, health department, and food safety regulations.
  • Provide general utility support and assist kitchen or service teams during peak business periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of dining operations.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and follow transportation procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including kitchens, loading areas, and outdoor conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in food service, warehousing, delivery, or utility operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
