Sales Executive

Job Overview

Purpose of the Role

The candidate for this role will be responsible to drive merchant acquisition, revenue growth, and transaction volume within the assigned territory by identifying, onboarding, and activating new business clients, while ensuring effective pipeline management and disciplined CRM usage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new merchants within the assigned territory.

  • Drive revenue growth by achieving assigned sales and acquisition targets.

  • Conduct product demonstrations, prepare proposals, and negotiate deals within approved pricing guidelines.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closure and merchant activation.

  • Build and maintain a strong and qualified sales pipeline to support consistent conversion rates.

  • Ensure timely follow-up on all leads in line with defined service level timelines.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records to support reporting and forecasting.

  • Support merchant onboarding in compliance with KYC and internal approval procedures.

  • Monitor early-stage merchant activity to ensure timely activation and transaction flow.

  • Engage merchants post-onboarding to address adoption challenges and increase usage.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support retention and portfolio growth.

  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to increase revenue and transaction value.

  • Prepare and submit periodic sales reports highlighting performance and pipeline status.

  • Track market trends and competitor activity within the assigned territory.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Product, Risk, and Operations) to resolve onboarding and operational challenges.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue and acquisition targets

  • Strong understanding of SME and retail market dynamics

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems

  • Strong negotiation, closing, and consultative selling skills

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and reporting discipline
