Job Overview
- Carry out all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance – Line and base maintenance as per approved maintenance program.
- Carry out all unscheduled aircraft maintenance out of base as circumstances dictates.
- Troubleshoot, repair, defect rectification, alterations and modifications, replacement, inspections, functional tests to ensure continued airworthiness of aircraft components, equipment and systems.
- Perform assembly, disassembly and repairs required in completion of Avionics repair or modifications including but not limited to removal, replacement and repair of engines and airframe.
- Ensuring all defects are rectified and aircraft/aircraft components certified on time prior to release to service.
- Review cabin defects and rectifying them before releasing the aircraft for a mission.
- Reporting and recording any abnormal damage, wear etc, on aircraft or its component when identified.
- Supervise all tasks assigned to and carried out by aircraft technician’s/ground operation personnel including but not limited to aircraft internal and external cleaning. Defueling/Refuelling etc.
- Ensure equipment, facilities and premises are maintained at industry acceptable standard.
- Ensure flight crew are suitably debriefed to ensure defects are accurately defined and recorded.
- Analysing and interpreting technical Information relating to aircraft.
- Monitor to completion of all planned work assigned to the AMO.
- Collaborate with other departments to complete project/s.
- Perform other tasks duties associated with AFD AMO aircraft maintenance.
- Liaise with Stores Officer in managing of AFD Technical tool store and associated tool and equipment technical publications.
- Ensuring all tools and equipment are calibrated as applicable.
- Maintenance of all aircraft tools and equipment at AFD and industry acceptable standard.
- Collect and reviewing reliability data to ensure data accuracy and/or proper coding to respective classifications/ATA chapters.
- Deferred Maintenance Items control: preparing daily open defects and MEL report to enhance aircraft dispatch briefing and advise the HOBM or the immediate supervisor.
- Transfer all Technical Log defects to the computer defects log/SAMS/electronic maintenance management system, including details of rectification action taken and any deferred defects.
- Carry out engine condition trend monitoring, downloading, uploading and recording of engine and APU data.
- Identify replacement parts required during aircraft maintenance and advise HOBM for sourcing.
- Review the Work Pack and plan/ requisition for parts and tools required to complete the check.
- Inspecting received aircraft parts for airworthiness before they are accepted in AFD technical store.
- Preparing for shipping of replaced parts/cores exchange units.
- Plan and assign tasks as per the Work Pack and manpower plan.
- Assist in AMO audits,
- Assist in audit of work packages from contracted AMO’S and other contracted maintenance service providers for completeness.
- Assisting in implementing the quality audit program.
- Prepare monthly fleet and loaner components utilization reports.
- Prepare monthly fleet delay and availability report.
- Monitor components under warranty and notify HOBM on valid warranty claims and those due to expire in 2 months’ time.
- Support the HOBM with regards to the contracted AMOs
- Provide support to the engineering unit.
- Attend to any other duties as assigned.
