The Rehabilitation Sciences Department through the School of Medical Sciences wishes to recruit an Associate Professor who will contribute actively to but not limited to Undergraduate and Postgraduate training, research, and community engagements. The Associate Professor will support and facilitate the teaching of Physiotherapy to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Physiotherapy/ physical-therapy.
An Associate Professor in Physiotherapy is an experienced academic who teaches, manages, and develops university physiotherapy programs, often holds specializing in areas like cardio-respiratory, orthopedics, neurorehabilitation, pediatrics, geriatrics and pelvic health e.t.c. The Associate Professor conducts research, require a strong clinical expertise, teaching skills, leadership, focusing on curriculum development, student support, and advancing the profession's evidence base.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Curriculum: Deliver lectures, lead modules, develop programs, and support student learning across various levels (Bachelors, Masters).
- Research & Scholarship: Conduct research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and engage in knowledge transfer.
- Leadership & Administration: Take on course leadership, manage student records, and contribute to academic objectives and quality assurance.
- Student Support: Act as a module tutor, advise on career paths, and provide mentorship.
- Clinical Expertise: Apply contemporary clinical knowledge, often in specific fields like cardio-respiratory, orthopedics, neurorehabilitation, pediatrics, geriatrics and pelvic health rehabilitation e.t.c.
