Job Overview

Support microplanning for MDA implementation across all sites:

  • Assist in the development and review of detailed microplans for each site, including mapping of distribution points, estimating target populations, allocating human resources, and scheduling activities while considering mobility, access, and security.

Coordinate with RHB, woreda health offices, camp health partners, and stakeholders:

  • Facilitate coordination meetings and ensure alignment of roles and plans among RHB, woreda offices, UNHCR, NGOs, and partners to avoid duplication and ensure smooth implementation.

Assist in logistics planning including drug supply and distribution:

  • Support drug quantification, storage, transportation, and distribution planning while monitoring stock levels and preventing stockouts or wastage.

Support training of health workers, CDDs, and supervisors:

  • Organize and facilitate training sessions, provide demonstrations, and ensure participants are equipped with necessary implementation skills.

Ensure understanding of dosing, eligibility, adverse event management, and reporting:

  • Ensure all personnel understand dosing protocols, eligibility criteria, adverse event handling, and reporting tools.

Provide on-site technical support during MDA:

  • Offer hands-on technical assistance during implementation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations.

Ensure adherence to national guidelines:

  • Ensure all activities follow Ethiopian NTD guidelines and WHO standards.

Monitor proper dosing and record-keeping:

  • Observe practices to ensure correct dosing and accurate documentation in registers and tally sheets.

Conduct supportive supervision:

  • Perform routine supervision visits and provide mentorship to improve service quality.

Use standard tools and provide feedback:

  • Apply supervision checklists and give immediate, constructive feedback.

Ensure daily reporting:

  • Ensure timely submission of complete daily reports and follow up on inconsistencies.

Compile and validate reports:

  • Collect, compile, and cross-check reports, resolving discrepancies with field teams.

Ensure data quality and timeliness:

  • Review data for accuracy and completeness and ensure deadlines are met.

Support basic analysis and final reporting:

  • Assist in analyzing coverage data and preparing final reports.

Monitor adverse drug reactions:

  • Track and document ADRs according to guidelines.

Ensure referral for severe cases:

  • Ensure severe cases are referred promptly to health facilities.

Guide health workers on side effect management:

  • Provide guidance on identifying and managing side effects.

Support awareness activities:

  • Assist community sensitization efforts before and during MDA.

Ensure culturally appropriate communication:

  • Promote use of local languages and culturally sensitive approaches.

Address community concerns:

  • Respond to questions and misconceptions to improve community trust and uptake.
