Sanny 22-Tonne Excavator Operator - Mtwara

Job Purpose

To operate a 22-tonne excavator (SANY) safely and efficiently in executing excavation, earthworks, and material handling tasks, ensuring project activities are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a 22-tonne excavator (SANY) for excavation, trenching, grading, demolition, and loading activities.

• Perform bulk earthworks, site clearing, and digging foundations as per project requirements.

• Load materials onto trucks and manage stockpiles efficiently.

• Conduct pre-start checks and routine inspections of the excavator.

• Ensure proper use and care of the machine to minimize breakdowns and downtime.

• Follow all site safety regulations and company policies.

• Interpret basic drawings, levels, and site instructions where necessary.

• Work closely with supervisors, surveyors, and ground staff during operations.

• Identify and report mechanical faults or safety risks immediately.

• Maintain cleanliness and safe working condition of the equipment.

Knowledge and Experience

• Valid heavy equipment operator certification/license (Excavator).

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience operating excavators (preferably 20+ tonne machines).

• Experience working on construction, infrastructure, or mining projects is an added advantage.

• Familiarity with SANY excavators or similar heavy equipment.

• Basic mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance.

• Must have a clean criminal record (certificate of good conduct may be required).
