The Tax Staff Accountant II plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations within the dynamic and highly regulated casino and gaming industry. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing various tax filings, supporting tax provision calculations, managing fixed assets for tax purposes, and assisting with audits and tax research. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Prepare federal and state corporate income tax returns and associated workpapers.
- Prepare quarterly federal and state estimated tax calculations
- Compile and analyze financial data to support ASC 740 tax provision calculations and reporting.
- Maintain and manage tax fixed asset records, including running projections and estimates for depreciation and tax planning.
- Prepare and file Nevada indirect tax returns, including Modified Business Tax (MBT) and Commerce Tax.
- Oversee real property tax compliance
- Respond to tax notices and inquiries from federal, state, and local taxing authorities
- Conduct tax research using authoritative sources and stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the gaming industry.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including Accounting, Legal, and Property Operations, to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to tax matters.
