NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.

DOF’s Administration and Planning Division is responsible for managing and overseeing administrative and operational services for the agency. This includes the daily management of the Offices of Financial Management, Purchasing and Contracts, Operational Services, and Diversity and Inclusion.

Administration and Planning’s Operational Services coordinates and directs all facilities-related operational support services for both public and privately leased properties agency-wide, including space planning, telecommunications, security, fire safety, health and safety, and fleet and transportation operations. The division also includes the agency warehouse, print shop, and mailroom operations.

The Operational Services/Fleet & Security Unit is seeking a motivated Motor Vehicle Operator to drive and assist in the maintenance of the agency's fleet of 130 vehicles. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the selected candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following duties:

-Drive DOF executive and other staff as needed to and from meetings and city-wide events.
-Drive vehicles to deliver agency-wide mail throughout DOF facilities daily. Drive to/from DOF offices and oversight agencies to pick up and drop off fleet-related documentation, such as registrations and gas cards. Drive vehicles to and from car washes.
-Assist in the maintenance of the agency's fleet, consisting of general pooled vehicles and the Sheriff's fleet. Assist with ensuring all oversight guidelines and requirements are followed. Track preventative maintenance schedule for 130 vehicles, including oil change and inspections. Schedule appointments with vendors and drive vehicles to and from shops and DOF facilities. Conduct quality control checks on work completed.
-Coordinate with garage personnel to monitor vehicles that are secure and parked safely. Address and resolve issues that arise. Arrange for towing companies as needed for disabled agency vehicles. Ensure towing protocol is followed.
-Assign vehicles to authorized drivers. Ensure forms and trip tickets are completed properly. Ensure rotation of the pooled vehicles so that all vehicles are used efficiently and uniformly, including those assigned to other divisions/offices.
-Check telematics devices to ensure full functionality. Coordinate with oversight agency to troubleshoot/re-install malfunctioning devices. Drive vehicles to activate and test devices as needed.
-Assist with authorized driver certification process for 400 employees. Conduct checks to determine eligibility to drive. Ensure drivers maintain validity of driving requirements throughout the year. Ensure only authorized d rivers are using agency vehicles. Assist with annual re-certification process.
