Role Summary
The EIC Analyst evaluates buyers’ creditworthiness by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and Coface’s proprietary experience to produce Debtor Risk Assessments (DRAs). The role requires close collaboration with Underwriters to ensure alignment between credit assessments and risk exposure. The Analyst is responsible for monitoring a portfolio of companies with medium to large aggregated credit risk and operates within designated industry sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, external research, and internal data to assess debtor credit risk and prepare comprehensive Debtor Risk Assessments (DRAs).
- Liaise closely with Underwriters to maintain consistency between DRAs and Coface’s risk exposure.
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of companies with medium to high levels of credit risk.
- Proactively contact companies and communicate with senior executives to obtain financial, operational, and strategic information relevant to risk assessment.
- Gather and research additional information as required, including public financial data, professional publications, and industry news.
- Produce clear, well-supported Debtor Reports demonstrating sound analysis, identification of inconsistencies, well-reasoned conclusions, and precise recommendations to Underwriting.
- Respond promptly to DRA revision requests from Underwriters and analysts in other regions, ensuring all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Monitor risk on an ongoing basis and update assessments following alerts from internal sources (e.g., claims) and external information providers.
- Escalate adverse or material risk-related information to Underwriting and management in a timely manner.
- Monitor sensitive files and issue warnings to Underwriting regarding significant events impacting debtor risk.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the company database, including proper identification, linkages, and coherence of DRAs.
- Evaluate and validate information provided by external research agencies and ensure reports are delivered within agreed timelines.
- Confirm the existence and legitimacy of companies and debtors through online research, website reviews, verification of locations, and validation of Tax Identification Numbers.
- Download financial information from public sources and upload relevant documentation into Coface’s internal systems (Atlas).
- Obtain financial and general company information through phone calls, emails, video conferences, or on-site visits when required, and record this information accurately in internal systems.
- Conduct ongoing online media and news monitoring to remain informed of economic developments and sector-specific risks.
- Maintain strong, long-term professional relationships with companies and debtors to clarify information, resolve discrepancies, and obtain timely updates.
- Handle workflow tasks outside of automated processes efficiently and within established SLAs.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Underwriting, Information, and other internal stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with Coface policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to cross-functional and transversal projects according to skills and experience, including vendor management, back-office initiatives, and internal training programs.
