The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Engineer to join our Group Technology team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for owning and managing the lifecycle of Crown’s on-premises and cloud security infrastructure, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems across all Crown Resorts properties.
You’ll work hands-on with critical security technologies — including firewalls, VPNs, PAM, IAM, NAC, and remote access platforms — while leading vulnerability remediation, compliance assurance, and risk mitigation efforts. This role also provides Level 3 escalation support, contributes to incident investigations, and drives automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing the full lifecycle of security infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Supporting and configuring firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, PAM, IAM, NAC, and remote access platforms.
- Leading vulnerability remediation and ensuring compliance with Australian cybersecurity and gaming regulations.
- Developing automation scripts to support security operations and system integrations.
- Providing Level 3 support and participating in on-call rotations across all Crown sites.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to resolve security issues and implement best practices.
About You
You are a technically skilled and proactive security professional with a strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure and cybersecurity. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy solving problems, and are passionate about protecting systems and data.
You will also bring:
- A degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant infrastructure security and cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AZ-500, and Google Cloud Security Engineer.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and Essential Eight as well as cloud security across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proven experience in network engineering, firewall configuration, and enterprise security infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to lead group-wide initiatives across multiple sites.
