Job Overview

The Mechanic & Electrical Lead is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment within the cashew processing facility.

Responsibilities

1. Maintenance & Technical Operations

  • Maintain and repair all mechanical and electrical equipment in the factory including processing machines, conveyors, boilers, compressors, and electrical systems.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.

  • Ensure machinery is running safely and efficiently to minimize production downtime.

  • Supervise installation and commissioning of new machinery.

2. Team Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team (5 staff).

  • Assign tasks and monitor performance of technicians.

  • Train team members on maintenance procedures and safety practices.

  • Ensure team accountability for maintenance quality and response times

    3. Production Support

  • Work closely with the Production Manager to plan maintenance activities around production schedules.

  • Respond quickly to machine breakdowns during production.

  • Provide technical input to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.

4. Maintenance Planning & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule.

  • Keep records of maintenance work, spare parts usage, and equipment performance.

  • Monitor and control maintenance costs and spare parts inventory.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance work follows factory safety procedures.

  • Maintain electrical and mechanical systems in compliance with safety regulations.

  • Support implementation of occupational health and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance and Mechatronics.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial maintenance.

  • Experience in food processing, agriculture processing, or manufacturing preferred.

  • At least 2 years experience supervising a maintenance team.
    Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

  • PLC or machine control knowledge (advantage)

  • Leadership and team management

  • Maintenance planning
