Job Overview

Minor Hotels is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Brisbane Head Office team on a Part Time 30 hours per week fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant end-to-end payroll processing across a portfolio of properties, while providing high-level customer service and support to employees and leaders.

Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy, legislative compliance and continuous process improvement within a high-volume, multi-site environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll across a portfolio of properties
  • Managing Workers Compensation payments, Paid Parental Leave (Services Australia), and Child Support obligations (where applicable)
  • Maintaining payroll and leave systems, ensuring accurate employee records
  • Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements and contracts, including overtime and shift allowances
  • Processing new starters, variations, increases, back pays and termination payments
  • Calculating and reconciling annual leave and long service leave accruals
  • Assisting with month-end reporting, payroll tax, reconciliations and General Ledger balancing
  • Preparing internal and statutory payroll reporting
  • Responding to payroll-related queries from employees and managers
  • Supporting payroll compliance, audits and ad hoc projects as required
