Business Development Manager - MICE

Join Avani Cypress Lakes Resort during an exciting period of transformation as we rebrand one of the Hunter Valley's most iconic resort destinations. We're seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - MICE to drive corporate and events business growth and help position the resort as the destination of choice for conferences, incentives and group experiences.

As the Business Development Manager - MICE, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and driving revenue growth across corporate, meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) segments. With a focus on both new business development and account management, you will position Avani Cypress Lakes Resort as a leading destination for conferences, retreats, group stays, and corporate experiences.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and execute sales strategies to increase corporate and MICE revenue for Avani Cypress Lakes Resort.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, industry events, and targeted sales activity.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and key industry partners.
• Manage and grow existing accounts to maximise repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Conduct client meetings, site inspections, and familiarisation visits to showcase the resort’s accommodation, conference facilities, golf, and leisure offerings.
• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure group bookings and events.
• Collaborate with operational teams including Events, Front Office, Reservations, and Revenue to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Maintain strong market knowledge, monitor competitor activity, and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales reporting, forecasts, and pipeline activity.
